We were delighted recently to accept a cheque for £2,158 from local solicitors Debenhams Ottaway. The local solicitors practice organised a range of activities over the last year and we are delighted that we have been selected as their partner again in 2019.

Activities the staff took part in included raffles, an organised charity week, Christmas Jumper Day, kind donations from clients and Debenhams Ottaway’s Health and Wellbeing week.

Managing Partner of Debenhams Ottaway, Susan Glenholme commented “Mental health and well-being is a topic that needs to be promoted, talked about, and thought about in all workplaces. I am delighted to see so many of our staff getting involved and working together in the activities the firm organise to help raise money for this well-deserving charity. Our staff chose Youth Talk as their charity because of the incredible work they do, offering counselling sessions and a safe place for young, vulnerable people across St Albans. We are delighted to be able to raise money for such a worthy cause”.

Accepting the cheques, Chief Executive of Youth Talk David Barker said “Our vital work relies on the generosity and goodwill of individuals and business across St Albans. Sadly, increasing numbers of young people need support and rely on charities such as Youth Talk. With the fabulous support from the team at Debenhams Ottaway we are able to continue to provide a safe space for young people and support them with their mental health and emotional wellbeing”.

Debenhams Ottaway is looking forward to working with the charity for a second year and have already started to plan more great activities to help raise even more money to support the vital work of the charity.
