We are super excited to introduce you to the latest addition to the Youth Talk Team. Rachel Simkin will be joining us on Monday 26th October as our new Corporate and Community Fundraiser.
We're delighted to have attracted someone of such high calibre and experience to support our work. Rachel has over 12 years fundraising experience working for both small and large charities. She has built challenge events and community fundraising portfolio’s, managed charity of the year partnerships and has a broad and longstanding career in fundraising ranging from community events to in-memory and legacy giving. Rachel also brings a wealth of experience in working with volunteers.
Rachel started her career working at Hope for Children (HOPE) where she helped to transform their events and develop long term relationships with partners and volunteers. She has progressed her career in a variety of other fundraising roles at CAFOD, Sue Ryder and Fight for Sight. Rachel tells us that she loves working with others, willing to help where there is a need and has supported numerous volunteers over the years in organising their own events and activities.
Our Chief Executive David Barker said "We are at a critical time in the future development of Youth Talk and I'm delighted to welcome Rachel to our talented team. We have big ambitions for the future and growing our fundraising will sit at the heart of our work to support the growing number of young people who need our help. We are all really looking forward to Rachel joining the team".
Rachel said "The pandemic has affected all our lives and as we enter a recession, uncertainty remains throughout society. However, I see tremendous potential at Youth Talk and am optimistic about the future. I'm particulalrly excited to be joining such a fantastic cause in my home town and can't wait to get stuck in!"
