A gift to Youth Talk will have a real and lasting impact on our community.

The festive season has arrived and while many of us are gearing up to have a merry Christmas, some might be feeling overwhelmed. Experiencing difficult feelings can be lonely and scary. The future can look bleak.
As a local mental health charity, we’re here to support the vulnerable young people in our community through the challenging times ahead.
Any local young person aged 13-25 can contact Youth Talk for confidential, professional, one-to-one counselling. Free of charge. No barriers. Accessible to everyone. It can be life-changing and in some cases, life-saving. As one young person said:
“Going to Youth Talk was eye-opening and relieving because all the sorrows can be lifted when someone listens. There is an importance in comfort and understanding that I couldn’t find at home or at school or anywhere. I’m happy I took this step in my life and made this change for myself. If I had not come to Youth Talk I would have become worse, possibly to the point of another suicide attempt.”

Amy
Aged 16But as you may know, for the first time in our 25 year history we have 100 young people waiting for our support.
Despite supporting on average 80 – 100 young people each week, the need has never been greater. When you’ve bravely reached out for help, waiting becomes very hard.
If you feel troubled, Christmas can be a time of loneliness and dread instead of joy. We must enable as many young people as possible to go into the new year with counselling support and hope for better times ahead.
Will you help us?
While we’re all feeling the pinch of the cost of living crisis, even a small contribution can make a big difference.
What better Christmas gift could you give than helping to provide a young person with their first counselling session?
- 🎁A regular monthly gift of just £10 a month (the price of just a few coffees) will help provide counselling to a young person who badly needs our support.
- 🎁Or a donation of £25 will help provide a safe place for a local young person to turn with their worries.
Whatever you can give will have a real and lasting impact.
This autumn we launched an ambitious 5 year strategy to double our service provision – it is our collective duty to be there during this time of critical need.
What else can you do?
Simply talk about Youth Talk with your friends, family and colleagues, you never know who may really benefit from our counselling service. Above all, invite them to join you as we stand by the local young people in our community this Christmas.

Young people rely on us and we rely on you. We are stronger together.
