Welcome to Youth Talk, Jim Lewis
Jim joins us at the start of 2024 as our Corporate Partnership Fundraiser. A well-known figure in our local community.
Why Jim joined Youth Talk
Jim has spent a lifetime in local education with a passion for supporting young people through their formative years, into adulthood and beyond formal education. Jim’s wife, is a Head of Maths, his son is studying at University to become a Maths teacher, and their daughter is a drama teacher, you might say teaching and an interest in young people runs in their blood.
His first experience at fundraising was at the age of ten, organising and hosting a 24-hour snooker marathon with his friends from school. Swimming, running, walking and cycling challenges have followed. In his last 12 years in education he was responsible for fundraising to support bursaries, capital projects and local, national and international good causes.
Jim’s role at Youth Talk
With fundraising in his DNA we are excited to have him on board to continue raising awareness and funds to support our vital counselling service.
As the Corporate Partnership Fundraiser at Youth Talk, Jim’s role is to engage with local companies and businesses that share the same purpose and vision of giving back to their community. He is responsible for securing new partnerships and nurturing existing ones, with the goal of long-term growth.
Outside of Youth Talk
Outside of work and family, Jim loves his sport, mostly watching these days, cooking and walking. Later in the year Jim will be cycling from Carcassonne, France to Barcelona, Spain with the Columban Cycling Club to raise funds for Youth Talk.
‘I am so excited to be joining Youth Talk and supporting the team in ensuring the long-term sustainable growth of the charity and the invaluable services it provides for local young people’.
