Old Albanians Cricket Club to play the Lashings International Cricket Squad
Are you ready for the ‘Harlem Globetrotters’ of cricket to come to St Albans?
The Game
The internationally renown Lashings World XI is coming to St Albans on the 28th of June 2024 for a game like no other.
Old Albanian Cricket Club will be playing the Lashings International Cricket Squad, dubbed “The Harlem Globetrotters of cricket”, in support of OACC and Youth Talk.
The current squad includes the likes of Sir Curtley Ambrose, Courtney Walsh, Ryan Sidebottom and Anya Shrubsole. As well as the all-star lineup, the match will be commentated on by legendary broadcaster Henry Blofeld OBE.
A spokesperson for the club said:
The touring Lashings squad will be at Woollam Playing Fields on Harpenden Road for the whole day, starting in the morning with some coaching and am training session with local youngsters.
A large marquee will host a three-course lunch with complimentary wine alongside Lashings players, and be wrapped up with a live auction with some top quality prizes that you won’t want to miss.
This will be followed by the main event, a Twenty20 match between an Old Albanian XI and the Lashings XI featuring world famous cricketers. This will be supported by a food court and pitch-side bars and entertainment.
