There are lots of services, information and support for young people, parents and families in and around St Albans.
For Young People
We work with Just Talk Herts – their 5 Tips to Wellbeing are a really good framework to support your own mental health:
Be active
Physical activity helps boost your mood. Go for a walk or a run.
Cycle, dance or play a game. Walk to school instead of getting the bus. Go to the park. Try a new activity.
Connect
Connect with people around you. Spend time with your
friends and family. Make new friends. Use different ways to communicate.
Give
Do something nice for a friend. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time. Raise money for charity. Be a good role model. Take
action to improve your neighbourhood.
Keep Learning
Set yourself a goal. Learn something new. Research something you’re interested in. Learn a new word or a random fact. Take up a new hobby.
Take Notice
Take time to be still, reflect, and become aware of your
surroundings. Notice what you are thinking and be aware of what’s going on in the world around you: the everyday and the
unusual. Be curious. Savour your favourite food.
For Parents
If your son/daughter needs help in a mental health crisis contact Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS – Single Point of Access (SPA). Call 0800 6444 101 (open 24/7) or alternatively call NHS 111, selecting option 2 for mental health services.

We are a charity
We need donations and support from our local community to keep supporting young people. If you know someone that could support us or fundraise for us please contact us. Please download a copy of our fundraising pack.
I think a few events in the last year would have been very difficult if I hadn’t had YouthTalk.
