At Youth Talk, we're passionate about contributing in our local community and building meaningful relationships with schools, businesses, sports clubs and community groups across St Albans.
These partnerships help us reach more young people and raise awareness of the support available when it's needed most.
One partnership we're particularly proud of is with Sala St Albans Youth Futsal Club. We recently caught up with Chris from Sala to find out why supporting Youth Talk is so important to them and how the partnership is making a difference.
What makes working with Youth Talk important to Sala?
"At Sala, we believe in supporting the wellbeing and future of young people in our local community. Mental health challenges among young people are becoming increasingly common, and access to professional support has never been more important. Working with Youth Talk allows us to raise awareness of the support available while helping to create a positive environment where young people can thrive. As a local club, we feel it's important to give something back to the community that supports us. Youth Talk's values around wellbeing, inclusion and positive development closely match our own, and we're proud to support the incredible work they do. We also hope our partnership encourages more open conversations about mental health and inspires other local organisations to get involved."
How did you first hear about Youth Talk?
"We first became aware of Youth Talk through our involvement with Men of Fields, a group of dads connected to Garden Fields School who support local charities and community initiatives. Through this, we've seen first-hand the positive impact Youth Talk has on young people and families. Learning more about the vital counselling and mental health support they provide inspired us to become more involved and support their work."
Looking to the future
"We're excited to continue building our partnership with Youth Talk through fundraising, community events and awareness campaigns that help shine a light on youth mental health. We hope to encourage more people and local businesses to get involved, because by working together we can make an even bigger difference. Most importantly, we want to help ensure that young people continue to have access to the support they need, when they need it most."
Thank you to everyone at Sala for their support and commitment to our collaborative relationship!
If you're part of a local club, business or community group and would like to work with Youth Talk in a similar way, we'd love to hear from you.
