At Youth Talk we take your privacy seriously
In order to operate effectively and efficiently, Youth Talk needs to collect and use information about our supporters.
We collect information about you for three reasons: firstly, to process any online orders/enquiries, secondly to provide news if you are a subscriber, and thirdly to provide you with the best possible service.
We understand that as the custodian of personal information it is very important to handle your personal information securely, appropriately and in compliance with the law.
Youth Talk is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy and aims to be clear and open about how your data is used. We will not share your personal information with other people unless you give your consent, or we are required to by law.

Information we may collect from you:
- Information that you provide by filling in forms that will help us contact you in the future like: name, company name, address, phone and email. This includes subscribing to our newsletters, surveys, or requesting further services.
- All personal information disclosed by you to us will be retained securely and we will not seek to append personal data from external sources
- Information on engagement with the emails and SMS messages you receive from us
- Material that you post or contribute to our site (e.g. in comments or wikis).
- If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
- The IP address your router freely transmits to our web servers
- Your browser user agent, as freely transmitted by your computer. This includes your browser build information, your device type and your computer’s operating system
We will not be collecting:
- Information about browsing habits outside of our own domains (https://youthtalk.org.uk/)
- Personal information relating to you and your private life, such as gender, age
Email and SMS options
Youth Talk use MailerLite, WuFoo, Survey Monkey, Stablepoint, Google Analytics and other affiliate links (clearly labelled) to send both email and SMS marketing communications, both the Stablepoint data centre and its support professionals are located within the EU.
Should you wish to stop receiving emails from us

- You may use the unsubscribe link, which will be present within the footer of every email and SMS we send to you. Your subscription preferences will be immediately updated.
Where we store your personal data
All information you provide to us is stored on our website hosts secure servers. We only store data with StablePoint. Your data will never be transmitted outside of the EU. Unless you have specifically requested us to do so . We do not store sensitive financial information (such as credit card data) on our servers. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Data is held in a state of the art highly protected data storage environment within the UK and will be used to:
- Improve the content and relevance of what we send to you
- Help improve the content we display on our website
- Answer any questions you may have submitted and retain this information to ensure a fast and effective service in the future
- Provide you with the fastest access to the latest content relevant to you
- Ensure we remain compliant under the terms of the GDPR
- Due to the open nature of the internet transmitting data to Stablepoint, this must only be done via approved data transmission channels. We will endeavour to ensure your data is transmitted to us using the known best practice approaches. It’s important to note, any data you send to us is sent at your own risk.
- Once your data is received, it will be stored within the StablePoint secure data environment, where we have robust processes and procedures to keep it safe.
Disclosure of your information
We may disclose your personal information to third parties if:
- Youth Talk is acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by it about its customers will be one of the transferred assets.
You have various legal rights in relation to the information you give us, or which we collect about you, as follows: –
- The right to access your information and obtain confirmation that we are processing your personal information (see below our Subject Access Request process);
- The right to have your personal information rectified if it is incomplete or inaccurate;
- The right to have your personal information removed or deleted in certain circumstances, for example when you have withdrawn consent to it being processed and we have no other basis for processing it;
- The right to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances;
- The right to object to certain processing including the right to not be subject to automated decision-making and the right to object where we are processing your information on the basis of our legitimate interest;
- The right to require us not to send you marketing communications; and
- Where you have provided your consent to the processing, the right to withdraw consent to the processing of your data (without affecting the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal).

Subject Access Request
You can ask us to confirm if we are keeping any personal information about you and you can also request to receive a copy of that personal information – this is called a Subject Access Request (SAR).
To make a SAR you may be asked to provide adequate proof of identity such as a copy of your passport, birth certificate, or driving license before your request can be processed.
Please try to be as clear as possible about the information you are seeking, as this will help us respond to your request more efficiently. Once we have received your SAR and any necessary proof of identity, you will receive a response from us within a month unless circumstances permit us to extend that deadline.
